Department 66 Fragile Rosé
Pale salmon in appearance, the nose bursts with pleasing aromatics of rose hips, honeysuckle, and rhubarb compote.
The opening displays a flavor spectrum of white peach, white nectarine, and wild strawberry, which then leads to a palatable mid of summer berry fruits and characteristic mineral notes.
Closing with principle, the wine exhibits a lifting note of pithy, pink grapefruit and just the right amount of persuading acidity to satisfy.
Department 66, the inspiration for our namesake vineyards and winery, is located just two hours north of Barcelona in the Roussillon region of France. Using a blend of 80 – 100 year old vines, Dave Phinney produces red and white wines from grenache, syrah, carignan and mourvedre.
